Metal Sheets are
manufactured from Supergalum AZ150. After cold rolling
the steel sheets are hot deep galvanized which makes the
surface corrosion resistant and receptive to further coating
by means of passivation. The passivated surface
is then covered with the protective polyester coating
which is 35 microns thick. With the protection offered
by a polyester finish, you can be confident that your
LTM Roofing will maintain its elegant look because polyester
is widely used as a protective coating for roofing and
cladding materials due to its corrosion resistant properties.
The process by which our metal tiles are produced also
result in the minimization of discoloration over time.
High strength
to low weight ratio:
LTM Roof offers an extremely low weight metal roofing
systems. Advantages: The low weight of the metal
roof allows the installation over the existing roof which
saves money on tearing down and disposing of the old roofing
material. It also saves the landfill space and protects
the environment. The low weight of the metal roof
puts less weight load on a structure, eliminating the
need to spend money on additional trusses. Conversely,
the added weight clay and concrete tiles, which can weigh
as much as 10 lb per square foot, necessitate thousands
of dollars’ worth of substructures to support the
added mass. Finally with it high strength to low
weight ratio the sheets have a low thermal mass that cools
quickly, which translates to a cooler roof surface, reducing
energy cost on cooling.
Fire protection:
Metal is non-combustible and does not support the spread
of fire, unlike most of roofing materials metal panels
we install have fire resistant protection on the top and
the bottom side of the roof. In case of fire the
dual protection helps preserve the integrity of the roof
structure long enough to ensure a safe escape. Conversely
most roofing materials (except for clay and concrete tiles)
have fire resistant protection on one side of the roof.
This could lead to an ultimate collapse of a heavy roof
as the support membranes collapse during an internal fire.
Longevity:
It is an accepted fact that metal lasts longer than asphalt.
When backed up by 50 year warranty you have a piece of
mind for a lifetime.
Energy Efficiency:
Energy Efficiency comes from 2 different sides. First
is the characteristic of the metal penal which reflects
up to 80% of the heat from outside compared to asphalt
with 0% reflection. Asphalt absorbs the heat and
transmits all of it into your house.
The other side is the installation of complete ventilation
system that allows for 75% of the heat to dissipate and
create constant flow of air in between the existing roof
and the new metal panels. The constant air flow
dries out the excessive moisture in the insulation which
ensures proper preservance of the heat and cold in the
house. Once the lifetime metal roof is installed
our customers report up to 40% decrease in hydro and gas
consumptions.
NOT noisy:
Contrary to the popular belief our metal roofing is not
noisy when it rains. In fact studies have confirmed
that a properly installed metal roof yields no significant
increase in noise when compared to other roofing materials.
We at LTM Roofing take every step to ensure that the insulation
inside the house combined with the fact that our metal
roofs are installed over plywood or an existing roof,
all contribute to muffling the sound of the rain.
Colour stable
Metal roofing that we install provide excellent colourfastness
quality where Fluoropolymer resin paint is used.
Fluoropolymers are tough resins that are comprised of
fluorinated polymers which make them highly resistant
to dirt retention and environmental aging. Additionally,
Fluoropolymers also have a high resistance to thermal,
chemical and ultraviolet influence.
Environmental
Impact - Metal Roofing is recyclable material
and is built to last a lifetime without replacement while
asphalt shingles need to be replaced every 10 years or
so and generate a significant amount of landfill waste
every time it is replaced.
